Buy me a substation before it’s too late
in an earlier post called "Buy me a pub before it’s too late" i asked if any of you wanted to buy me one of the three pubs for sale near where i live before someone knocks them down well i am happy to report that all three are still standing and one of them is being used as a pub of all things!
so my property dreams have shifted
there is one problem (apart from the fact i can't afford to buy any property) i don't know if this substation which i think wood make a cool little home is for sale.my thought when i saw the for sale sign outside was it was one of the flats next to the substation that was for sale then this came through the door
talking about updates to the national grid. if new bits of infrastructure are being add maybe some old bits are being sold off. so i headed to www.christopherstokes.co.uk/ to see which wood come up boring flat or cool substation?
but both were absent

waltham cross comic book shop: nerdvana
inspired by a leaflet called Broxbourne borough council waltham cross renaissance project in which the council gave a verge out line of how they are going to try to improve the appearance of waltham cross. well forget widening pavements and planting trees here is how i wood improve my town
with a big kryptonite green nerdy shop stuff full of nerdy stuff. ok i have had to evict fishpools the south east's largest quality furniture store which has been in the town since 1899 but i believe it was shakespeare who said "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one" and we all need to geek out from time to time. and it's not like my shop won't stock furniture I'm shore a replica of James Tiberius kirk's captain's chair wood look fantastic in your living room. or maybe a full size tardis (out side dimensions) to keep your comic book collection in (don't forget to check out the back issue department)
this shop has everything any geek, nerd or otaku could ever need or want
it will be A to Lord Zedd of all things geek. comic, action figures, war games you name it this shop stocks it. even that really obscure film you saw on late night tv and can't remember the name of they have it on dvd and blue ray and have the even more obscure graphic novel it was based on.
unfortunately it doesn't exist so you have to settle for a print of nerdvana

door21 a man with a plan
so my plan was this go to the Isabel Hospice shop in waltham cross where just abbot everything is a pound and buy a duvet cover or a pair of curtains and try and make something out of them ( i hadn't got as far as working out what that something was to be) but the best lay plans of mice and men often go awry (usually after a augment about cheese) and all they had was some pillow cases and tea towels so i left empty handed and defeated and went for a look round the other charity shop waltham cross has to offer and got myself a copy of dave gorman's googlewhack adventure
a book about a man with a plan to wright a novel but get distracted by a game involving a well know internet search engine

God never closes a door without opening a window
I think it was Will Shakespeare who said "Does believing you're the last sane man on the planet make you crazy?"
this building has been here for quite some time now and the shop on the ground floor with a large window on a busy road has never been occupied and i recently came up with a theory as to why it is still empty. here is my theory.
it has not got a door
now i know it sounds crazy but i have walked past it allot and there is no door on this side of the building and the other side of the building is behind gates (to keep us safe from the residents or to keep the residents safe from us).
now i would think that someone would have picked up on this problem in the plan or construction of this building or at least try to fix it in the intervening years
