will my underuse photography equipment make me beautiful or hideous

 today I got out my underuse photography equipment to see what I could do. I have a Slave flash, a self-contained flash unit which responds to external triggers. so I set it up to add light to a doll behind me and it mostly worked.

for what was a thrown-together set-up I don't  think it looks too bad the doll is visible but not overlit
